Gabriel Kuhn, a 12- year-old who was tragically killed by Daniel Petry another gamer over an online game.
The details of the case are worrisome, however, it is important to remember that not all online games are harmful but it is expedient to stay safe while playing games online.
Since the tragic incident happened in Brazil, many unanswered questions have been rising about the case.
Ranging from the light sentence given to Daniel Petry regardless of the severity of his actions to his current whereabouts and mental state.

Who’s Gabriel Kuhn?
Gabriel Kuhn was a young boy who hailed from Santa Catarina, Brazil. Just like every other child, he had a promising life ahead of him.
He loved playing an online game called “Tibia“, where he met a fellow gamer named Daniel Petry.Â
These two grew to becoming friends over a shared interest but things took a dark turn when Kuhn refused to repay a loan to Petry and abruptly disconnected him from contacting him

What Happened to Gabriel Kuhn?
Two young friends, Gabriel Kuhn and Daniel Petry were involved in a tragic incident that left one dead and the other facing a dark future.
The case still remained a long and complicated one but it ultimately served as a reminder of the fragility of life and the need for compassion in the phase of life.
Gabriel Kuhn borrowed some digital coins from Daniel Petry. Due to his inability to pay, Petry became frustrated.
On the day Petry was supposed to receive his Tibia currency, he discovered that he had been logged out from the private server that he had been playing on without Gabriel Kuhn repaying him the money he was owed.Â
Petry grew to be more frustrated and angry, his anger at this point continued to build with dire consequences
Gabriel Kuhn was paid a visit by Daniel Petry. However, Petry initially called Kuhn’s mother to find out what time she would be arriving with the aim of settling things with Kuhn. No one knew Petry had a mischievous thought.
It was a fateful decision when Gabriel Kuhn let Daniel Petry into his home. As soon as Kuhn gave him access to the house, he shut the door and began to beat him mercilessly.

Gabriel Kuhn found the courage and voiced out that He would tell his mom about the unimaginable act Petry did.Â
On hearing that, Perry got more angry and sought for a means to silence him permanently.
With rage in his heart, he strangled Gabriel Kuhn’s neck using a cable system, till he got unconscious.
At this point, Daniel Petry believed Gabriel Kuhn was dead. He then turned to the unthinkable or acts. In an attempt to cover up for his crime, he began to dismember his body using a saw.
In a shocking turn of events, Kuhn gained consciousness and he began to move and scream in excruciating pain and agony.
Daniel Petry on the other hand was amused at the groans he was hearing. His grin widened as he continued to sever the torso of the 12-year-old Kuhn, after which he gave up the ghost in the process.
Petry carved Tibia’s symbol into Gabriel Kuhn’s chest and tried to hide it by stuffing it in the crawlspace.
On discovering that it still did not fit into the Narrow entrance he abandoned the 12-year old severed body in the hallway and fled the scene
In the last communication of Petry, He was quoted as saying;
“Gabriel cheated and I will make him pay for all his actions; as he said that there is Heaven and Hell, there in Hell is he; I will find him there and take revenge again“

After Petry was detained, Kuhn’s autopsy was released and showed that he was sexually violated.
When he was being interrogated about this act, Petry denied that he sodomised Kuhn which prompted the police officers to ask if he was a homosexual. This question made Petry triggered, he flared up and angrily denied that he was homosexual.
Petry was charged as a minor and sentenced to three years in a Juvenile correctional facility.

Daniel Petry was born in Brazil. A native of Blumenau, Santa Catarina.
Based on research, Petry grew up in a toxic environment and unconsciously it contributed to the psychological factor that caused him to develop violent tendencies.
His parents on the other hand went as far as to have him attend psychiatric evaluation tests.
Results showed nothing was wrong with him and he discontinued his treatment and checked out of the hospital. This made him dislike doctors and nurses.
Petry was an avid gamer. He became so excellent in the Tibia game that he often interacted with fellow players online as they had fun. Kuhn was one of the online friends he made while playing the game.
Who would have thought that something meant to elicit happiness within young teenagers would result in one of Brazil’s most disturbing and strange murder stories of all time?
Over the years, rumours about Petry’s life after prison have multiplied. Some research has it that he might have been consumed by guilt and take his own life, unable to bear the weight of his horrific actions
Others have it that he may have transformed himself, adopting a new identity and pursuing a respectable career as a lawyer or businessman, cunningly hiding in plain sight
The truth behind Petry’s disappearance remains a mystery, a puzzle that has yet to be solved and may never be fully understood.
