ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS

By OKECHUKWU VITUS:

They walked the road with hope,
On their way to Emmaus,
Their fear multiplied,
Their savior and hope gone,
Killed ad a common criminal,
If he had not told them,
They won’t believe.
It has come and gone.
They would go to the road,
That only lead to Emmaus,.and such a visitor came,
Asking questions what trouble them,
Is he another trial for another Peter,
Who knows what he is,
A teacher if the law?
So, they ask him the questions,
And by His answers,
Their fear disappeared,
Their savior has come to them,
For they had faith,
And walked to meet Him
Who has risen from death,
And into His glory.
