I Want Loving Nights, Tender Dreams

for you, for me, for us,
for everything that bears witness
of the beauty that dances to our (he)art-beats,
for this matrimony where there is always
a song to fall into at every drop of your voice,
a poem to cast at the vapor our synchrony emits.
because love is another response to light,
the closest turn to salvation on days
gloom holds the body hostage, days grieve fills
a room with absence & the ache of memories.
because love erases footprints of deadness
& could sit in a graveyard turning the dead
to birds, to wayfarers somewhere
in the wind faring in peace to wildness.
because love wears everything perfectly,
it wears a sagged heart & it feels like home,
it wears an old body & it feels young on the inside,
it wears a deserted city & rain hit roofs with
symphonies & your love wears my soul, consumes
everywhere with longings for monsoon,
for mountains & music, for poetry & plenty.
your love wears my soul & my art tastes like wine,
grows moist in beauty like lavender & lilies.
