Halleluiah

Butterflies- Day 21

Halleluiah

that there’s always a soft poem
to wear your body on days you look
in the mirror & do not like what you see.
& sometimes I’m empty like I’m full,
because your voice lives here
& every silence I listen to, floats your face
& sets my heart free to greet butterflies.
because your thought is a moist form of art
& every time my mind wanders in your vibes
the world becomes a rain of fireflies.
that though the earth may pass away with the
seas losing their saltiness & oceans, their depths,
your love would always be here
to carve my hopes out of the clouds.
& sometimes I’m lost like I’m found,
because a man in love do not fade with dust,
& you’re always out in the night calling me home
to your arms where fireworks do not lie.
because you can never be lost living in
another’s heart or in a soul fit enough to carry
you across thunderstorms & not break.
Anike, & that you’re all I see when colours smile
& the music I hear when songbirds sing into sunset.
