A Moonlight Song

Butterflies- Day 26

A Moonlight Song

moonlight is a song filled with mirrors
& you’re the only lyrics to embrace
to survive times my reflection is a mirage.
in my sojourn with the night, there is
no knife to peel darkness off her skin,
but a heart fluent with colours,
a voice knitted with resurrection to the
deadness spreading its coast in a body.
& the night always finds you here as a
moon ray burying gloom in walls,
as a walkway clad in echoes of nightingales.
& I want to walk with you till my feet
grow wrinkles & dusty beards
-with sundown heaving on us its last breath.
till my arm is everything left
of a map to your home & happiness.
I want to begin every quest of survival
with a prayer on your tongue & walk through
moonlights crafting museums of your smile.
I want to love you like music- the type you could
tent storms in its melodies till they become
lost kites coursing the sky in disarray.
I want to dissolve in this chemistry
till every atom of me sing & reek of you.
Anike, will you let me?
