During their marriage, Clarence was involved in extramarital affairs with Lilian McEwen, a retired prosecutor, who had disclosed details of their affairs in her memoir and interviews.
In addition, she had accused him of being a heavy drinker and a porn addict.
After his divorce in 1984, Clarence got married to Virginia Lamp in 1987.
On the other hand, Kathy Ambush got married to Douglas Allen Smith, and they both reside in Richmond, Virginia.
Kathy was born on the 6th of June, 1960. She’s a reserved figure, but her marriage to Clarence Thomas had thrust her into the limelight.

Clarence Thomas
Clarence Thomas, born on the 23rd of June 1948, is the second black man to serve in the US Supreme Court and one of the longest-serving judges.
US former president George H.W. Bush nominated him in 1990 to succeed Thurgood Marshall, and he has served since 1991.
Clarence had a difficult childhood. His father had left them when he was only two years old, leaving him and his two siblings with their mother.
After a fire outbreak destroyed their home, his mother Leola Thomas sent him and his brother to live with their grandfather, Myers Anderson.
His very strict grandfather had given them tough training. He had sent them to Catholic schools with the hope of getting Clarence to become a priest. However, Clarence had left the seminary.
Besides, he faced a lot of racism attacks, being black.
After leaving Conception Seminary College, he attended the College of Holy Cross and Yale Law School.
Despite all his difficulties, he did well in school. He took his studies very seriously. Also, he founded the Black Student Union (BSU) with other black students while at Holy Cross College. It had been a voice for the black students.
After graduating from Yale Law School in 1974 where he earned his Juris Doctorate, Clarence was appointed as assistant attorney general in Missouri and later sought private practice.
From there, he climbed up the ladder, until his appointment by President Bush to become a justice of the supreme court in 1991.
However, same 1991, he faced legal charges of sexual misconduct brought against him by Anita Hill. But, the case was dismissed then.
Notwithstanding, that incident influenced Anita’s fight against gender violence.
Also, he released a memoir in 2007, My Grandfather’s Son, detailing stories of his life; capturing his early struggles, struggles with alcohol and finances, including his defense against Anita Hill’s accusation.
